Build a dust collection system that actually fits.

Standard shop vac accessories are a mess of mismatched sizes and friction-fit hacks. HoseJoy gives you magnetic, modular connectors engineered for real tools — in 4 simple steps.

Step by Step

Build Your System in 4 Steps

Male connectors always point toward the vacuum source.
Dust and air always move toward the vacuum, so the male end of each connection faces that direction.
Once you know this rule, picking parts becomes easy.
Standard 1-1/4″ diameter. Used for most small tool ports — sanders, routers, jigsaws, and compact extractors.
Mid-range 2-1/2″ diameter. Common on shop vacs, Milwaukee extractors, and medium-duty hoses.
Large 4″ diameter. Used for dust collectors, large blast gates, and permanent shop duct systems.

01

Start at the vacuum or dust extractor. Each HoseJoy vacuum adapter is machined to fit your specific machine’s port — no universal-fit guessing. This is the FEMALE end of the connection; it snaps onto the MALE hose adapter.
Available for Milwaukee, Festool, Makita, Ridgid, DeWalt, and more.

02

If your main hose is wider than the line leading to your tool, a size-down adapter bridges the gap cleanly. No reducer socks, no taped joints. Just a magnetic step-down that maintains airflow.
Step down from 2-1/2″ to 1-1/4″, or customize to your layout.

03

These go on the hose ends and form the magnetic male-female connection. Your hose snaps onto the vacuum adapter with a satisfying click and holds firmly — even when you’re dragging the vacuum across the shop.
Works with hoses from 7/8″ to 2-1/2″ outer diameter.

04

The final link in the chain. Each tool port adapter is designed for the specific dust port on your sander, saw, or router. Tight fit, sealed connection, zero airflow leaks.
Available for hundreds of power tools across all major brands.

Why HoseJoy

Not just adapters. A system.

Everything works together. Every part is interchangeable. Build once, expand forever.

Magnetic Quick-Connect

Every connection in the HoseJoy system uses embedded neodymium magnets. Snap on, snap off — no tools, no clamps, no stuck fittings.

Engineered for Real Tools

We measure actual dust ports from actual tools. Not a 'close enough' universal fit — a precise match for your specific machine.

Lifetime Warranty

Every adapter we make is covered for life. If it breaks under normal use, we replace it. No receipts, no hassle.

Made in the USA

Designed and manufactured in Portland, OR. We control every step of production to ensure consistent quality.

FAQ

Common Questions

You can absolutely start with a single adapter and expand from there. Many customers start by replacing just the vacuum-side port and add tool adapters one at a time as needed.
HoseJoy adapters work with standard shop vac hoses from 7/8″ to 2-1/2″ outer diameter. If you’re unsure, measure the outer diameter of your hose and compare to our product specs.
Yes — the neodymium magnets are strong enough to hold the connection under normal use, including when dragging the vacuum across a shop floor. They release with a deliberate pull, not accidental tugs.
Probably yes. Visit our Custom Connectors page and submit a request with your tool make, model, and dust port measurements. We design and manufacture custom connectors regularly.
In the HoseJoy system, the MALE end points toward the tool (the source of dust), and the FEMALE end points toward the vacuum. When the two ends meet, the magnets click them together.
